What is CCTELA?



The CCTELA is a national organization of affiliates from across Canada dedicated
to the teaching and learning of English language arts in Canada.


WHAT DOES CCTELA DO?

speaks to national issues for English language arts teachers in Canada
promotes Canadian unity through dialogue and communication
publishes and distributes Canadian writing and the Canadian perspective
supports provincial affiliates in professional development activities
serves as a forum for cross-country sharing of ideas and perspectives
sponsors national literacy conferences on a regular basis
publishes English Quarterly and the CCTELA News Update
publishes policy statements on such issues as evaluation, teacher
    education, and freedom of speech.
 
Current movements for a national curricula demand a strong voice for Canadian English language arts.
CCTELA is a voice for Canadian Teachers.
